Hedge fund indices are private funds that allow investment in the public securities markets. The majority of these include corporate and government investors, though employees are permitted to get involved.
These indices are not liquid and their potential for sudden and unforeseen changes is high. Thus these indices show a high risk potential that is only suited for high risk gamblers and experienced traders. Sales are very frequent, making the risks of changes in pricing almost a given. However, these indices are amongst the most lucrative and speculative of all funds. A good trader can use these indices with other techniques to hedge against risk and make good profits.
